What’s the most important discovery in psychology? I believe it’s the power of thoughts, that your thoughts about yourself can change how you feel, both emotionally and sometimes physically.

Your thoughts and feelings influence your behaviour and define what you do. So if you want to feel better and do better – change your thoughts. Do this by catching the unhelpful ones and substituting them with more positive ideas about yourself – so if you think more positively you’ll feel better and this will start a virtuous circle.

Change ‘I can’t do it’ to ‘I can do it, it may not be easy, but I know I’ve managed a very similar situation before’.
Change ‘I’m not good enough’ to ‘I am good enough – everyone is better at some things than others’, etc.

Unchallenged thoughts can become self beliefs, so don’t allow the negative ones to linger.
